Thank you for visiting my classroom website. I am so excited to have your child in my class this year!  I understand the struggle my students face as they adapt to the high demands of balancing their academic, extra-curricular, and social life. I am available several times a week before and after school at a student’s request. I do my best to reach every student, but you know your student best and I ask that if you see him struggling you encourage him to come see me.

If sign up to observe your studnet in Canvas, you will find all the due dates and activities we did in class. This is where students will find out what was missed when they are absent and be able to get notes. Please be aware that due dates are only extended if the student is absent on the day an assignment is due, unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Technology is a staple in today’s society and in my class students will learn to use it responsibly as a tool. Each student is required to bring a fully charged laptop to class to complete work or view our agendas. We will not always use technology in class, but it is the expectations that when we need it, they have it.

Finally we will read independent choice books in class this year, as well as whole class novels. I do my best to ensure that multiple perspectives and levels are repsresented in my classroom library. I require students to discuss their selections with you before commiting to it in class. Please visit my classroom library letter for more information.
