Every student in my class will be held to an academic honesty agreement. Students at Keller High School are expected to display the utmost integrity. You should organize your time and effort to meet the demands of each of your classes. Please notify me immediately if you begin to struggle with any assignment.
Cheating of any kind, whether it is giving or receiving answers, will not be tolerated. If you are in doubt about whether you may work with another classmate on an assignment, please ask me.
Plagiarism, whether intentional or unintentional, will also not be tolerated. Plagiarism is taking ideas or writing from other persons without giving them credit. Whenever you use information or ideas that are neither out of your own head nor common knowledge, you must give credit to the original author. When in doubt, cite specifically where you found the information
Consequences for cheating and/or plagiarism may include:
- Notification of parents
- A permanent zero for the assignment
- A “U” in conduct
- Notification of the appropriate principal and counselor
Each student receives this agreement at the beginning of the year to better understand the consequences of plagiarism and sharing answers.
